Specialising in Neurodevelopment and Mental Health for Children and Adolescents
I am an experienced psychologist with specialist training in neurodevelopmental conditions, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for both neurodiverse and neurotypical clients, Systemic Therapy and adapted CBT and integrative therapy for autistic people and people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I am also a qualified Mindfulness teacher and have trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy with Children and Adolescents. I offer individually tailored , integrative therapy, as dictated by the needs of my clients.
I also offer comprehensive diagnostic assessments for Autistic Spectrum Condition (Autistic Spectrum Disorder, DSM 5 and ICD 10). Although I do follow the NICE Guidelines for these assessments, I include several additional assessment tools to obtain a picture of the individual strengths and areas of need of my clients. This ensures that children, young people and their families do not only receive a diagnosis, but also individually tailored, detailed recommendations, including any necessary educational interventions or support systems. I provide post-diagnosis support and psychoeducation for parents, children and young people. Throughout the whole process, as well in my academic role, I promote a positive and empowering narrative of neurodiversity.
Finally, I have delivered training to schools, other professionals and in my role at Anna Freud Centre, alongside my colleagues, to NHS professionals and Health Education England.
I am Registered with the Health Professional Council (HPC) and Chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS). You may check these registrations by visiting these agencies’ websites.
I have acquired my experience working and training in the NHS in a variety of services: Great Ormond Street Hospital, Northeast London Community Mental Health Team, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team at the University College Hospital and Southwest London and St George’s Child and Adolescent Mental Health Learning Disability Service. I have also worked in schools and in several private settings.
I work closely with several other highly skilled professionals with specific expertise in various areas, such as psychiatrists, neurodevelopmental psychiatrists, child and adolescent psychiatrists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and paediatricians.
I am also a Clinical Practice Tutor at the Anna Freud/ University College of London, Autistic Spectrum Condtion/ Learning Disabilities Post Graduate Programme for clinicians and the Supervision for Supervisors Post Graduate Program and a Honorary Lecturer at the University College of London. Most importantly, I see myself as a passionate and dedicated advocate for neurodiversity and mental health.
